RW ELAST®, USE OF RAP

The use of our additive RW Elast® allowed the production of this surface layer from a standard bitumen not modified in a binder plant.
The usual issue with 20% (and more) RAP in the formulation is a dilution of the neat bitumen. Our customer expected to compensate this dilution by adding RW Elast® instead of using a very highly modified PmB to avoid viscosity issues for instance during unloading and pumping operations. Thanks to RW Elast®, it was very easy to make this, directly by increasing the rate of our additive at the asphalt mixing plant.
This is an easy way to reach the performance specifications.
